Amy Everson is an artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area who makes the uncanny feel funny and the funny feel handmade. Working across painting, costume, and sculpture, she takes the instantly familiar, a hot dog, a yoga pose, a family photo, and renders it with obsessive craft until it’s strange, tender, and impossible not to share.
In 2026, a series of her surreal hot-dog paintings took off on Instagram (@amyeversonart), reaching millions of viewers in a matter of weeks. She also makes @everlovan with her husband and daughter, an account where the family stages elaborate, screen-accurate recreations of everything from Lord of the Rings to Severance, many of which have gone viral and have spun off their own memes. More often than not, her studio is her own home.
Beneath the humor, her work has always probed the body, identity, and what it means to make things from inside a family.
Amy first reached audiences as the co-writer and star of Jason Banker’s FELT (2014), which premiered at Fantastic Fest to rave reviews and won awards on the festival circuit. She has since built costumes, puppets, and creatures for Modest Mouse, Amazon Game Studios, and Wargaming, and was the production and art director on the award-winning feature film Murder Bury Win (2020).
